I believe that great design encompasses many things, starting with an aesthetically pleasing appearance including a distinct identity and strong brand positioning. Attention to detail is important, from the high level layouts down to the tiniest details, care must be given to all aspects of the design. Keeping in mind customer needs, business goals, content, branding, and a knowledge of how the final design going to be developed will collectively ensure a powerful first impression, competitive differentiation, and is the single greatest factor in the creating a perception of credibility.
I created mock-ups for a modernization of the Sage 50 Accounting software UI. The focus for this was strictly visual design, while keeping the general layout, UI elements and interactions consistent with the current version of the software.
I worked with Best Buy's in-house design team on a redesign of the Future Shop ecommerce web site. My focus was on global elements such as the header, footer and navigation, the Home screen, and the Product Detail screen. I also worked extensively on the accompanying visual design style guide.
I provided a new visual design for the Cheers Bar & Grill web site. The design is intended to get straight to the point — that Cheers is a great place to go to watch the game.
I provided a new visual design for the VRC Fitness web site to present the gym as more warm and welcoming. I added the “Weights Without the Waits” tagline to support their key competitive differentiator — the gym is massive and wait times for equipment are minimal.
I created a visual design concept for Home Depot's internal training application for design agency 612 Creative.
I created a visual design concept for Mac's corporate web site for design agency 612 Creative.
I designed the TU Group web site, which was primarily targeted toward prospective hires. I provided the concept of placing various animals/plants inside the light bulb image to support the “We Bring Ideas to Life” tagline.
I designed the Travel Underwriters web site and provided the “Rest Insured” tagline and visual concept.
I designed the Travel Underwriters Easy Referral web site, which was a site for agents who don’t sell travel insurance to use to refer their customers while receiving a commission for resulting sales.
